I was in Paris for a bit and took a walk with my friend Fifi and his proverbial “joie de vivre” in the Montmartre cemetary.

My beloved mother Anne surprised me with a nice present for Christmas. It was actually something I thought was lost for many years and I was really sad about it. Somehow she managed to find it back.

The dedicace above is from 1993, I was eleven and starting to ~~photograph~~ fuck around with a camera, my parents were invited to a cocktail and met Robert Doisneau.

My mum told him I wanted to become a photographer and he wrote me this kind little note.

It says ” For Axel, A very old camera from a very old photographer”

Last summer, on a steamy friday afternoon, I went to meet the boys from Das Racist in the East village at their favorite hang out the blind barber, which in addition to beeing a trendy barber is also a bar… Do i really need to say more?

About the actual shoot, I remember people jumping around, someone throwing some shrimps at me and infamous assistant Ryan Morris carrying two strobes, a flash generator and two shots of whiskey.

And that is pretty much how it got a bit out of hand…
